would like to inform Rwandans and the international community that it has
obtained credible information that President Paul Kagame might be plotting to
assassinate the former President of Rwanda, Mr. Pasteur Bizimungu and a former
Minister, M. Charles Ntakirutinka.
We call
on all human rights organizations to strongly condemn the terror that the Kagame
regime applies to the Rwandan people in general, and to those with differing
views in particular. We appeal to
all countries to exert maximum pressure on the Kagame regime to cease its human
rights abuses and its campaign to assassinate political opponents.
ARENA
is issuing this first RED ALERT in order to prevent the assassination of these
two individuals. We remind
President Kagame that he is responsible for their safety, and warn him that he
will be held accountable for whatever happens to them.
ARENA
will continue to issue these alerts when reliable information warrants it.
It is imperative that we all act urgently to prevent the Kigali regime
from claiming any more innocent lives.
